What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal to the injectors and sets the code when the signal reads below the threshold. The cause can be poor contact, oxidation or an open circuit in the connections, a signal wire shorted to earth, an open circuit in the earth lead, or a damaged injector.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or open circuit in the connections
- Signal wire short-circuited to earth
- Open circuit in the earth lead
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check the connectors to the injectors. Poor contact or a break in the connection can cause the fault.
- 3Look for chafed wires and check that the earth leads to the injectors are firmly attached.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, you can activate the injectors one at a time and listen for a click.
- 5If nothing else is found, have a workshop measure the wiring against earth and check the injectors.

- The engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly, at unclear times
- The engine does not start, and when the fault shows is unclear
