What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the measured flow through the EGR system with the requested flow. The code is set when the measured flow is below the requested flow for too long in total. The cause is a blocked EGR valve.

- Blocked EGR valve
What you can do
- 1First deal with any fault codes for the turbo or the mass air flow sensor, then check the EGR valve again.
- 2Look for soot and dirt in and around the EGR valve, since a blocked valve can cause the fault.
- 3If the EGR valve has been replaced recently it needs adapting. Have a workshop do this.
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the EGR valve and the flow through it.
