ECM-P146200 - A/C Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the air conditioning pressure using the A/C pressure sensor. The code is set when the signal from the sensor is too low. It can be checked while driving and concerns the sensor and its wiring and connectors.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- The signal wire is shorted to ground
- Damaged A/C pressure sensor
- Loose connection, or contact resistance and corrosion in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their location is in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check the connector at the A/C pressure sensor for looseness, contact resistance and corrosion.
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the A/C pressure sensor has no break and no contact with ground (the body).
- 4Start the engine, read the diagnostic status and fault status for the code, and check whether it comes back.
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pressure from the A/C pressure sensor with the air conditioning off and on, and check that the value changes.
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, the A/C pressure sensor can be replaced.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The air conditioning or climate control does not work
