What does this fault code mean?
The A/C system and its components are monitored by the engine control module (ECM). The code is set when the power stage in the A/C control has too high a temperature.
Possible causes
- Short circuit in the connections
- Damaged temperature sensor in the A/C compressor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their location is in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check the connections to the A/C compressor for looseness, contact resistance and corrosion.
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the wires in the connections are not shorted to each other or to ground.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the temperature from the A/C compressor temperature sensor with the A/C on, and check that the value changes.
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the A/C compressor and its temperature sensor.
Symptoms you may notice2
- The front part of the cabin does not get cold enough
- The air conditioning or climate control does not work
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
