What does this fault code mean?
The swirl flap motor operates the flaps in the intake manifold, and its signal is monitored by the engine control module (ECM). The code is set when the PWM signal is wrong, and it is checked with the engine running.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Fault in the swirl flap motor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their location is in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2With the ignition off, disconnect the connector to the swirl flap motor and use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to voltage.
- 3Check the connector to the swirl flap motor for looseness and corrosion.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the swirl flap motor and check that it responds to the command.
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the swirl flap motor.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
