What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives brake information from the brake control module (BCM) over the CAN network. The code is set when the signal from the BCM is invalid or unreasonable. The fault is recorded first in the BCM, so it is a follow-on code.
Possible causes
- The root fault is in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Correct the fault in the brake control module first. Read its fault codes and follow them, since this code follows them.
- 2Clear the code in the engine control module once the fault in the brake control module has been corrected, and check that it does not return.
- 3Do not work on the braking system yourself. If the fault remains, have a workshop check the brake control module and the brake pedal signals.

- The cruise control does not work at all
- The cruise control cannot be engaged
