What does this fault code mean?
The code is event controlled, so it is an information code and shows no fault in the engine control module. It is a follow-on code to other fault codes and should not be troubleshot directly. It is set when the PWM signal and the analogue signal from the accelerator pedal position sensor differ too much, and it clears when the conditions no longer apply.
Possible causes
- Looseness, contact resistance or corrosion in the connections to the accelerator pedal position sensor
- Open circuit in the ground wire or the signal ground wire
- Fault in the PWM signal or the analogue signal from the accelerator pedal position sensor
- Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Correct the other fault codes in the engine control module first. This code follows them and should not be corrected directly.
- 2Clear the code once the root fault has been corrected, and check that it does not return.
- 3Check the connector to the accelerator pedal position sensor for looseness, contact resistance and corrosion.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the accelerator pedal position values in live data with the ignition on, and check that they follow each other when the pedal is pressed.
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the accelerator pedal position sensor.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
