What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives signals from the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel via the central electronic module (CEM) and checks that the information is plausible. The code is set when the information is incorrect or implausible while cruise control is active. Cruise control is switched off for as long as the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM), which sends incorrect information
- Incorrect signal from the steering wheel buttons or their wiring
What you can do
- 1Check that the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel work and give the correct response when pressed
- 2Check the fuses for cruise control and the central electronic module
- 3Have a workshop read the codes in the central electronic module and the engine management, as the fault often starts there
- 4Clear the code only once the cause has been fixed, and then check that cruise control works
Symptoms you may notice2
- Cruise control will not engage
- Cruise control does not hold the set speed and disengages
What the fault can affect1
- Cruise control is switched off while the fault is active
