What does this fault code mean?

The code is event controlled, so it is an information code that does not show a fault in the engine control module. It is set when information the cruise control needs is missing or unreasonable, for example during excessive acceleration from low speed, and it clears when the conditions no longer apply.

    Possible causes

    • The code can be set without any fault needing correction
    • The cause may lie in the central electronics control module (CEM)
    • The cause may lie in the brake control module (BCM)
    • Short circuit between the CAN wires
    • Loose connections or contact resistance in the connections to the CAN network

    What you can do

    1. 1Clear the fault code and check whether it returns after you have used the cruise control for a while.
    2. 2If the code returns, read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) and the central electronics control module (CEM), and correct them first.
    3. 3Do not work on the braking system yourself. Have a workshop check the brake control module if it has fault codes.
    4. 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the CAN network.

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • The cruise control cannot be engaged

    What the fault can affect1

    • The cruise control is switched off for as long as the fault is active

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
