What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors its internal components and continuously takes in data from the transmission control unit (TCM) via the CAN bus. The code is set when the engine control module detects a fault in the communication section. The fault lies in the engine control module itself and cannot be corrected by the driver.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the engine control module (ECM) itself
What you can do
- 1Check whether other fault codes for the fuel system are stored in the engine control module, and correct them first.
- 2Clear the fault code and see whether it returns while the car is driven for a while.
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop check the engine control module. It may need replacing.
