What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered an internal reset. The code concerns the control module's own supervision of the microprocessor, and the condition is the internal reset itself. The fault may be caused by faulty software or by an internal fault in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- Faulty software in the engine control module (ECM)
- A fault inside the engine control module (ECM) itself
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and note which are present before clearing any
- 2Clear the fault code, switch the ignition on and wait a while so the control module can run its test
- 3Check that the fault code is no longer active when the test has finished
- 4If the fault code returns: have a workshop check that the engine control module has the latest software and replace the control module if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
