What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered that the voltage was too low while its internal processor was being reprogrammed. The fault therefore relates to a programming step, and the cause is given as a software fault. The engine may be difficult to start and may feel short of power.
Possible causes
- Software fault in the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check the battery charge and that the battery terminals are tight and clean before any programming is done
- 2Read off the fault codes and note which are present
- 3Have a workshop reload the engine control module with the latest software and check that the fault code is gone
- 4After the reprogramming: switch the ignition on, start the engine and read off the fault codes again
