What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) lacks the immobilizer code that must match the central electronic module (CEM), so the immobilizer cannot be checked. The engine does not start even though the starter motor turns. The fault code is also set in the event of an internal fault in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- The ECM has not been programmed and holds no immobilizer code
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and note which are present
- 2If the engine control module is not programmed: have a workshop program it
- 3If the engine control module is damaged: have a workshop replace it
- 4After a repair or programming: switch the ignition on, reconnect any disconnected connectors, start the engine and read off the fault codes again
Symptoms you may notice1
- The starter turns over, yet the engine fails to start
