What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has either not been programmed or has an internal fault, and then it cannot match the immobilizer code with the central electronic module (CEM). The engine does not start even though the starter motor turns. Although the code describes incompatible software, the condition concerns the immobilizer code itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and note which are present
- 2If the fault code returns: have a workshop replace the engine control module (ECM)
- 3After a repair: switch the ignition on, reconnect any disconnected connectors, start the engine and read off the fault codes again
Symptoms you may notice1
- The starter turns over, yet the engine fails to start
