What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has detected that the voltage supply to its internal components is incorrect, here too high. The code therefore concerns the internal voltage regulator in the control module. The cause may be a fault in the charging system or a damaged engine control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the charging system
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check the battery charge and that the battery terminals are tight and clean
- 2Read off the fault codes and note which are present before clearing any
- 3Clear the fault code, switch the ignition on and wait a while so the control module can run its test
- 4Check that the fault code is no longer active when the test has finished. If it is gone, the fault may have been temporary
- 5If the fault code returns: have a workshop replace the engine control module (ECM)
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
