What does this fault code mean?
The generator control module (ACM) has signalled to the engine control module (ECM) that the generator probably has a mechanical fault. The fault therefore concerns something that prevents or slows the generator's movement. The cause may be a damaged belt or belt tensioner, a faulty freewheel or a damaged generator.
Possible causes
- Damaged auxiliary unit belt or belt tensioner
- Faulty freewheel
- Damaged generator
What you can do
- 1Check that the auxiliary unit belt and belt tensioner are not damaged
- 2Check that nothing has caught in or is rubbing against the generator
- 3If the fault code returns after driving: have a workshop check the generator or try a new one
- 4After a repair: switch the ignition on, start the engine and read off the fault codes again
Symptoms you may notice3
- A text message and a warning symbol appear in the display
- The engine hesitates or surges during acceleration
- A noise comes from the generator
What the fault can affect1
