What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered faults in the torque request from the brake control module (BCM), which is sent over the CAN link. The fault can lead to limited engine torque. The code is a general description and does not state what type of fault it is.
Possible causes
- Faulty software
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes, note which are present and clear the fault code
- 2Drive the car and read off the fault codes again afterwards. Check that the fault code is no longer active
- 3If the fault code returns: have a workshop check the software in the engine control module and replace the module if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice2
- A text message and a warning symbol appear in the display
- The engine performs poorly and lacks power while driving
What the fault can affect1
- Engine torque may be limited
