What does this fault code mean?
The ECM gets feedback from the lambda sensor on the air-fuel mixture. The fault code is set when the control module detects that the supply voltage to the lambda control is too low. This may be due to the signal wire being short-circuited to earth, or to an internal fault in the control module.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to earth
- Internal fault in the control module (ECM)
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Their locations are given in the owner's manual
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the lambda sensor has no contact with earth (the body)
- 3Check that the connectors are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 4If the fault remains after these checks: have a workshop replace the engine control module (ECM)

- The emissions lamp is lit
- The check engine lamp lights or behaves abnormally
