What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the data that each injector stores in its memory circuit. The data is sent over the LIN bus, and the fault code is set when communication between the engine control module and the injector is missing.
Possible causes
- LIN communication between the injector and the engine control module is not working
- Internal fault in the injector
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and note which are present before clearing any
- 2Check that the connectors to the injectors are firmly seated and clean
- 3Have a diagnostic tool: read the injector data in live data with the engine running and see whether the values update
- 4Clear the fault code, start the engine and let it run for a while so the control module can run its test
- 5If the fault code returns: have a workshop check the injector and the LIN communication to it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module uses the last known value from the injector
