What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the data that the injectors send over the LIN bus. The fault code is set when the control module receives no communication from an injector. The injector data is then unavailable to the control module, which uses the most recent value instead.
Possible causes
- LIN communication between the injector and the control module is not working
- Internal fault in the injector
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and note which are present before clearing any
- 2Check that the connectors to the injectors are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 3Clear the fault code, start the engine and let it idle for a while so the control module can run its test
- 4If the fault code returns: have a workshop check the injector and the LIN communication to it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses the most recently used value from the injector
