What does this fault code mean?
The output stage of the engine control module, which controls the piston cooling valve, has become too hot. Other fault codes are probably stored as well and should be troubleshot first.
Possible causes
- The output stage in the engine control module (ECM) has become too hot
- Overload in the connected components that the fault code concerns
- Play in connectors
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault codes and troubleshoot any others that are present first
- 2Check that the connectors to the control module and the piston cooling valve are firmly seated and have no play
- 3Check that the piston cooling valve is not sticking or damaged, since overload in the connected components can cause the fault
- 4If nothing is found, the fault may lie inside the output stage of the control module. Then have a workshop replace the engine control module
