What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the CAN communication with the additive dosing module (ADM). The fault code is set when the communication does not work, or when the ADM requests that the information lamp be lit and a text message be shown. The fault is first registered either in the ADM or in the CEM, and the code cannot be cleared until those faults are fixed.
Possible causes
- CAN-related fault codes are stored in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Fault codes are stored in the additive dosing module (ADM)
What you can do
- 1Start with the ADM fault codes, then read the codes in the CEM
- 2Troubleshoot and fix the fault codes stored there, and any CAN-related fault codes in the CEM
- 3Clear the fault codes once they have been fixed. This code can then be cleared
- 4If the fault remains after this: have a workshop troubleshoot further
