What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named signal below allowable range, it applies when the engine control module (ECM) has registered that the speed value reported by the brake control module (BCM) is excessively high. The code is event controlled: it does not show a fault in the control module where it is active, but works mainly as information. It is only set when driving under certain conditions and disappears when those conditions no longer apply.
Possible causes
- Faulty speed value from the brake control module (BCM), where the cause should be looked for
What you can do
- 1Read off the codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and remedy them
- 2Investigate the speed signal while driving, as the code is only set under certain driving conditions
- 3If the code remains after the fault in the brake control module has been remedied, it can be cleared in the engine control module
- 4Check the connectors to the brake control module and its wiring for chafing and moisture
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
