What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) checks the swirl damper motor and whether it can reach its open end position. The code is set when the learning of the open end position has failed, and it is tested after a drive.
Possible causes
- Defective swirl damper motor
- The swirl damper jams or has stuck
What you can do
- 1Check that the swirl damper is not jammed or stuck in the open position
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, you can read whether the code is active after a drive
- 3Make sure the connectors at the swirl damper motor are intact and free from corrosion
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the swirl damper motor and the end position
