ECM-P206500 - Fuel Level Sensor B Circuit. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The central electronic module (CEM) sends fuel level information and the fault status of fuel level sensor B to the engine control module (ECM). If the CEM registers an electrical fault in the sensor, the code is stored in the CEM and at the same time in the ECM. The cause should be looked for in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM), where the cause should be looked for
What you can do
- 1Read off the trouble codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first and remedy them, as the code in the engine control module follows from that fault
- 2Clear the code in the engine control module only once the code in the CEM has been cleared
- 3Check that the fuses are intact and that the wiring to the fuel level sensor is free from chafing and loose connectors
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment investigate the central electronic module
Symptoms you may notice2
- Fuel gauge shows a fault or a value that is too low
- Check engine warning lamp lights or behaves abnormally
