What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors exhaust gas temperature and sets the code when the reading of the temperature sensor ahead of the particulate filter is wrong. The cause may lie in the wiring, the connections or the sensor.
Possible causes
- Trouble code ECM-P203300 can cause this code
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Earth lead short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged temperature sensor at the particulate filter
- Trouble code ECM-P203200 can cause this code
- Contact resistance, oxidation or open circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check that the connections are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no short circuit to supply voltage or ground
- 4Check that the sensor wiring is free from chafing
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop measure the sensor resistance and check the wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- A calculated value is used instead of the sensor signal
