What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered that the throttle unit is too hot. The fault counts as an internal system fault and is checked with the ignition on. The code concerns the temperature reading rather than the control signal itself.
Possible causes
- Overheated throttle unit
What you can do
- 1Read the code with the ignition on and check whether it is still active
- 2Check that the connectors at the throttle unit and the engine control module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Look for external damage to the throttle unit and to the wiring leading to it
- 4Check that nothing is blocking the throttle unit, such as dirt or an object
- 5If the code returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the throttle unit and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
