What does this fault code mean?
This code concerns the signal from the throttle position sensor, more precisely the first potentiometer in the electronic throttle unit. It is set when, during an adaptation attempt, the engine control module finds an internal fault in the amplifier for that signal. The fault therefore lies in the control module, which then ignores the signal from that sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read the code with the ignition on and note it down
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, check that the throttle position appears in live data when the accelerator is pressed and released
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the throttle unit and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module does not use the signal from the first potentiometer in the throttle position sensor
