Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (1)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered an electrical fault in the throttle unit where the current is too high. The fault may be caused by short circuits in the wiring, by the throttle unit itself or by the engine control module.
Possible causes
- Cables to the throttle unit are short-circuited to supply voltage or ground
- Electrical fault in the throttle unit, which may be a damaged throttle unit
- Damaged engine control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition on, activate the throttle position readout and check that the value is reasonable at different accelerator positions
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the wires between the control module and the throttle unit are not shorted to supply voltage or ground
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the throttle unit housing has no electrical contact with its connector
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the throttle unit and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- The engine performs worse
- Uneven idle
- The cruise control does not work at all
- A message appears in the text display
What the fault can affect2
- The cruise control is disconnected while the fault is active
- The supply to the throttle unit is interrupted, so the throttle plate moves to its spring-loaded position
