What does this fault code mean?

During an adaptation attempt, the engine control module has found that the throttle angle in its return end position lies outside the programmed limit. The fault is mechanical, so the throttle cannot reach its emergency position.

Possible causes

The throttle sticks or is blocked, for example by oil film or dust
Poor contact or oxidation between the control module and the throttle unit
Damaged throttle unit

What you can do

1Check that the throttle is not sticking or blocked by dirt or an object, and clean the throttle unit if needed
2With the ignition off, check the connectors at the throttle unit and the engine control module for contact resistance and oxidation
3With the ignition off, turn the throttle gently by hand and let it go. If the return spring does not bring it back, the throttle unit is damaged
4Have a workshop carry out the throttle adaptation, since this fault can affect the adaptation values
5If the fault remains, have a workshop decide whether the throttle unit needs replacing
