What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has noticed that the basic frequency of the accelerator pedal sensor's PWM signal falls outside the predefined values, and here it is too low. The cause may be connectors, an open or shorted signal wire, or a damaged pedal sensor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections between the control module and the pedal sensor
- A broken signal wire, or one shorted to ground or to supply
- Damaged accelerator pedal sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connectors at the pedal sensor and the engine control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Look for a break or chafing in the signal wire, and use a multimeter to confirm it has no contact with ground or supply voltage
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment decide whether the pedal sensor needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
