What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has registered that the basic frequency of the accelerator pedal sensor's PWM signal deviates from the predefined values, and this time the frequency is too high. The cause may be poor contact, a shorted or broken signal wire, or a damaged pedal sensor.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation between the control module and the pedal sensor
- The signal wire has an open circuit or is shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Damaged accelerator pedal sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check that the connectors at the pedal sensor and the control module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to confirm the signal wire to the pedal sensor has no contact with ground or supply voltage, and look for chafing
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop decide whether the pedal sensor needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
