What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the engine control module finds that the basic frequency of the accelerator pedal sensor's PWM signal deviates from the predetermined values. The fault may come from poor contact, a break or short in the signal wire, or a damaged pedal sensor.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections between the control module and the pedal sensor
- An open circuit, or a short to ground or supply voltage, on the signal wire
- Damaged accelerator pedal sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Read the code with the ignition on and see whether it is still active
- 3Go through the connectors at the pedal sensor and the control module, and look for loose connections and oxidation
- 4Look for breaks and shorts in the signal wire to the pedal sensor
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment decide whether the pedal sensor needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
