What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module has noticed that the PWM signal from the pedal position sensor is cycling too fast. The fault may come from poor contact in the connector, or from a damaged pedal sensor.
Possible causes
- Poor contact, oxidation or a loose plug in the connector
- Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, look at the connector at the pedal sensor and the engine control module, and check that it is firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pedal position in live data and check that the value follows the pedal's movement
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop decide whether the pedal sensor needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice2
- A text message and a warning symbol appear in the display
- The engine lacks power and performs poorly
What the fault can affect1
- Engine torque may be limited
