What does this fault code mean?
This is a consequential fault. Via CAN, the engine control module gets a fault message from the CEM. The message points to a fault in the analogue pedal signal or in the CAN communication. The underlying fault lies in the CEM and should be fixed first, after which this code can be cleared.
Possible causes
- A fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1First read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM), and fix them
- 2Clear this code only after the fault in the CEM has been fixed and cleared, then check whether it comes back
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pedal position in live data with the engine running and check that the value follows the pedal
- 4If the code returns after the CEM has been fixed, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment trace the CAN communication and the pedal sensor
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor response from the accelerator pedal
- The cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- The accelerator pedal stops working completely when the brake pedal is pressed
