What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the oil pressure and temperature sensor that the engine control module (ECM) uses for piston cooling is erratic. The code is set when the signal is incorrect, and the sensor is the likely cause according to the troubleshooting. The fault is fixed by replacing the sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Check that the connectors to the oil pressure and temperature sensor are secure and not chafed or corroded
- 3Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor signal while the engine runs, to see whether it jumps
- 4Replace the oil pressure and temperature sensor if the fault remains; that is the repair for this fault
