What does this fault code mean?
Piston cooling is demand-controlled and run by an electric valve. The engine control module (ECM) receives the oil pressure and temperature sensor signal, which it uses when the valve opens. The code is set when that signal is invalid, and the sensor is the damaged part. The fix is to replace the sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Check the wiring and connectors to the oil pressure and temperature sensor for damage and loose connections
- 3Have a workshop compare the oil pressure sensor reading with the other pressure sensors before the engine is started
- 4Replace the oil pressure and temperature sensor if it is damaged, since that is the fix the fault-tracing points to
