What does this fault code mean?
The ECM reads the signal from its internal atmospheric pressure sensor, which is built into the module. The code is set when that signal is faulty, which means an internal fault in the engine control module. The module then uses a fixed default atmospheric pressure, corresponding to sea level.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the fault counter and see whether the code returns after a new drive
- 3Erase the code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 4Have a workshop decide whether the engine control module has an internal fault; if the fault remains, the module is replaced
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module uses a fixed default atmospheric pressure, corresponding to sea level
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
