What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the sensor signal with a calculated model of the pressure. The code is set when the deviation is too large. The fault may lie in the connectors, the boost pressure sensor or the wiring to it.
Possible causes
- Poor connections with high resistance, oxidation or looseness at the connectors
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the connections and wiring to the boost pressure sensor for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a diagnostic tool and the ignition on, read the boost pressure sensor signal and the atmospheric pressure in live data, and check that the value is reasonable
- 3Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the boost pressure sensor if the values do not match
- 4Replace the boost pressure sensor if it is damaged and the connections are intact
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
