What does this fault code mean?
The module watches the signal from its built-in atmospheric pressure sensor. The code is set when that signal changes too quickly, which shows it is faulty. The fault lies in the control module, not in a separate sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the code, note it and clear it. Then drive the car and read again to see whether it returns
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the air pressure value in live data with the ignition on and see whether it changes quickly or jumps while the car stands still
- 3If the code comes back, the engine control module is faulty and must be replaced. Have a workshop do the replacement
Symptoms you may notice1
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control uses a fixed fallback value for normal sea-level air pressure instead
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
