What does this fault code mean?

The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal from its internal atmospheric pressure sensor. The code is set when the signal stays below a certain value for a certain time. It can be checked while the engine is running, and the fault lies in the control module.

    Possible causes

    • Damaged engine control module (ECM)

    What you can do

    1. 1Read the code, note it and clear it. Then drive the car with the engine running and read again to see whether it returns
    2. 2If you have a diagnostic tool: have the module run its internal test for the code with the engine running and read the status
    3. 3If the code returns, the module is faulty and needs replacing. Have a workshop do the replacement

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • Check engine lamp comes on or behaves abnormally

    What the fault can affect1

    • The engine control uses a fixed fallback value for normal sea-level air pressure instead

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
