What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) continuously judges whether the signal from its built-in air pressure sensor is plausible. The code is set when that signal is faulty, here too high. The fault lies in the control module, and it is checked with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Internal fault inside the module
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the code, note it and clear it. Then drive the car and read again to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses for the engine control are intact
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: have the module run its internal test for the code and read the status when the test is complete
- 4If the code returns, the engine control module should be replaced. Have a workshop do the replacement
Symptoms you may notice1
- Check engine lamp comes on or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect3
- The engine control uses the intake manifold sensor value if it is fault-free, otherwise a fixed value
- Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control is lost
- Burning of soot particles does not take place
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
