What does this fault code mean?
The module keeps watch on the fuel system and its parts. In certain operating modes, for example with a cold engine, fuel pressure is controlled only by the fuel pressure control valve, and the code is set when pressure is incorrect in such a mode. The code is mechanical.
Possible causes
- Excess fuel flow reaching the injection pump, for example from a damaged fuel pressure sensor, injector, fuel pressure control valve or tank pump
- Too high fuel pressure from a damaged injection pump
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel level in the tank. If it is low, add fuel
- 2Check the fuel system for leaks and whether the fuel filter is blocked
- 3Check the injectors for leakage
- 4Check and repair any fault codes for the tank pump
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injection pump and the fuel pressure sensor
