What does this fault code mean?
The module measures rail pressure through the fuel pressure sensor and regulates it with the fuel pressure control valve. The code is set during starting when fuel pressure is too low even though the control valve is fully open.
Possible causes
- Low fuel level
- Blocked fuel filter
- Leakage in the fuel lines
- Damaged fuel pump
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve or fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged or clogged return line from the injectors, or damaged injectors
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel level in the tank. If it is low, add fuel
- 2Check the fuel system for leaks and whether the fuel filter is blocked
- 3Check the injectors for leakage
- 4Check the connector and wiring of the fuel pressure sensor for contact resistance, oxidation and breaks
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the fuel pump and the fuel pressure control valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine is hard to start and cranks slowly, sometimes or all the time
