What does this fault code mean?
The module reads the front heated oxygen sensor, which reports on the fuel and air mixture. The code is set when the signal from the sensor is faulty during deceleration, when the fuel supply is briefly cut off.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation at terminals and joints
- Wiring is shorted to earth or supply voltage
- Damaged oxygen sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Check the oxygen sensor terminals and connections for contact resistance and oxidation. Rust-dissolving spray and grease should not be used
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the oxygen sensor are not shorted to earth or supply voltage
- 4If the wiring is in order, try a new oxygen sensor
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment diagnose further
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
