What does this fault code mean?
The module monitors the signal wire feeding the ignition coil's primary winding. The code concerns ignition coil 1, and the signal to it is too low, which may be caused by the signal wire being shorted to earth.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to earth
- Damaged ignition coil
What you can do
- 1Clear the code, drive the car and read again to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to ignition coil 1 is not shorted to earth
- 3If the wire is in order, ignition coil 1 may be damaged and need replacing
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment diagnose further
