What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named circuit voltage below threshold, it applies when the zero-point adaptation of the particle filter pressure sensor is wrong. The control module measures the pressure upstream and downstream of the filter and monitors the sensor signal against a calculated value, and when there is a fault it uses a calculated value instead.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Damaged pressure sensor for the particle filter
- Pipes or hoses to the sensor are mixed up
- Pinched or folded hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors at the pressure sensor are firmly seated and free from contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Make sure the hoses to the pressure sensor are not swapped round, and look for pinched or folded hoses
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the pressure sensor has no contact with supply voltage
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the adapted pressure difference across the particle filter in live data
- 5If the fault remains after a new service regeneration, have a workshop decide whether the particle filter needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine warning lamp (Check engine) lights up or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a calculated value instead
