What does this fault code mean?

Although the code is named circuit voltage above threshold, it applies when the zero-point adaptation of the particle filter pressure sensor is wrong. When this happens the control module uses a calculated value instead of the sensor signal.

    Possible causes

    • Damaged pressure sensor for the particle filter
    • Pipes or hoses to the sensor are mixed up
    • Pinched or folded hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter

    What you can do

    1. 1Look at the hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter for pinched or folded sections
    2. 2Make sure the hoses to the pressure sensor are not swapped round
    3. 3Look at the connectors at the pressure sensor for looseness and oxidation
    4. 4Do not disconnect the control module connector yourself; have a workshop measure the signal wire with diagnostic equipment
    5. 5If the fault remains after a new service regeneration, have a workshop decide whether the particle filter needs replacing

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • The engine warning lamp (Check engine) lights up or behaves abnormally

    What the fault can affect1

    • The control module uses a calculated value instead

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
