What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named signal too high, it applies when the signal from the particle filter pressure sensor is incorrect. The engine control module (ECM) measures the pressure upstream and downstream of the filter and checks the signal against a calculated value. The fault gives no noticeable symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Loose hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter
- Pinched or folded hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter
- Hoses or pipes to the pressure sensor have been swapped
- Damaged particle filter pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter have not come loose
- 2Look for pinched or folded hoses between the pressure sensor and the particle filter
- 3Check that the connectors at the pressure sensor are firmly seated and not oxidised
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the adapted pressure difference in live data
- 5Have a workshop disconnect the control module connector, measure the signal wire with diagnostic equipment and reset the adaptation
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
