What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named signal below allowable range, it applies when the signal from the particle filter pressure sensor is incorrect. The engine control module (ECM) checks the pressure before and after the filter and compares the signal with a calculated value.
Possible causes
- Hoses or pipes to the particle filter pressure sensor have been swapped
- Damaged particle filter pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the hoses to the particle filter pressure sensor have not been swapped
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pressure sensor signal in live data, both with the engine running and after it has been switched off
- 3If the fault returns, have a workshop check the pressure sensor and the particle filter with diagnostic equipment
- 4Have a workshop decide whether the particle filter pressure sensor is damaged and needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice4
- The engine performs worse
- The engine warning lamp (Check engine) lights up or behaves abnormally
- A warning symbol and a text message appear in the display
- The car runs poorly and lacks power
What the fault can affect3
- Engine torque is limited
- Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control is lost
- Burning of soot particles does not take place
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
